Under the terms of its specific legislation, the Consorcio covers the risk of forest fires. This is a form of accident cover for people participating in the extinction of forest fires.

Claims to indemnify personal harm arising from forest fires.

Should anyone suffer harm as a result of their collaboration in the extinguishing of forest fires, the injured party, their beneficiary or representative should present a claim as soon as they possibly can under the terms of Law 50/1980 dated 8th October and relating to insurance contracts, to the Consorcio de Compensación de Seguros, Sub-Directorate of Agricultural Insurances. Pº de la Castellana, 32. 28046 - Madrid, providing the following documentation as and when it becomes available:

 

For injuries:

 

  • Claim by the injured or his/her representative
  • Certificate from the competent authority regarding the causes and approximate extent of the loss
  • Medical certificate indicating the injuries
  • Definitive clean bill of health
  • Bank details of the recipient
  • Photocopy of the injured party's DNI and of the recipient if they are not one and the same.

 

In the event of death:

 

  • Recipient's Claim
  • Certificate from the competent authority regarding the causes and approximate extent of the loss
  • Photocopy of the victims DNI
  • Death certificate.
  • Will or testament indicating heirs.
  • Photocopy of recipients' DNI
  • Recipients' bank details
  • When required and after receiving the appropriate certificate from ourselves: justification of the settlement of the inheritance and donations tax.

 

The amount of the indemnity is regulated by Ministerial Order dated 3rd August 2001.
